Heya, IT’S THE FIRST OF OCTOBER! Time to roll out all the Halloween festivities! Jheez I feel like the year has gone far too quickly, like we’re almost in 2018. Aside from that, I feel like I’ve jammed so much into this weekend and I’ve got such a busy week coming up too. I feel like I’m just constantly tired (haha!). Over this weekend, I have been trialing a bunch of Mielle Organics hair products that were kindly sent to me via TreasureTress. As you know, I love this subscription service so much and you can see my other posts and learn some more about the brand here: (1,2,3). Be sure to stay ’till the end as I have a discount code for you guys! This month was a brand focus with Mielle Organics and I’ll talk you through their brand in a lil bit. I also just wanted to let you know that I want to start expanding the Art and Photography section of my blog. I’ve recently started my Art GCSE so let me know if you want some posts on that; organisation, title pages, layout, art analysis and all that jazz!
So, a little bit of information about Mielle Organics:
MIELLE ORGANICS IS A HAIR CARE COMPANY THAT BELIEVES HEALTHIER INGREDIENTS ENCOURAGE HEALTHIER HAIR.
They have many different ranges, I currently own the Honey & Ginger Collection and the scent is literally to die for and of course the quality is incredible too! So I was so happy to be able to try out their Mongongo Oil Collection which consists of 6 full size products. I have put the majority of these to the test so am able to give you some mini reviews on each of the products.
The collection that I am about to show you can be bought in bulk all together or separately.
TreasureTress, as per usual, packaged the products beautifully and securely. There were no difficulties in delivery and the box arrived promptly and safely. You can always guarantee the box to be decorated so so nicely on the interior.
Firstly, I’m going to start off with the setting spray. Can we just appreciate that the actual liquid is pink, like how cute! The scent of this is very subtle which I think is relevant for a setting spray. The product manages to hold my hair in place really well, which is a job and a half since my hair is so thick! If I was to pick out one small thing though is that the nozzle for the spray is quite small; the spray comes out in straight lines as opposed to spraying and covering a large surface. Other than that small detail I cannot fault this product at all!
Next up I have the Heat Protectant Spray. This is specially formulated to protect your hair against extreme heat while also eliminating frizz and preventing split ends. As you may or may not know, I am actually heat-free with my hair and have been since July 2017. (If you’d like a post on that then let me know). Since I do not use heat on my hair, I gave this product to my mum to try out and she fed back saying that it restored shine in her hair and the protectant had locked in the moisture as no moisture was lost after heat was applied to the hair.
The Exfoiliating Shampoo really interested me when I saw it. I was so surprised at how well this cleaned my scalp, it lifted dirt away within one wash! The product has a lovely lather and I didn’t find it to be harsh on my hair either. The almond oil, seed oil and the various other natural ingredients I think really helped my hair to maintain it’s strength as some shampoos can really strip down your hair.
I was 100% the most excited to try out this product as it was nothing like I’d ever tried before. This is the Pomade to Oil Treatment and this is my favourite product of the entire range so far! It’s so unique and I love the consistency. It begins as a thick kinda cream pomade and then once you rub it between your fingers, it transforms into a oil. I love using this on my scalp and just all over my hair because it’s not greasy. It makes my hair shine so beautifully and makes it look and feel healthy.
Lastly, I have the Hydrating Conditioner. I didn’t get round to trying this product out but from what I can see it looks very thick and luxurious. Let me know if any of you guys have tried any of Mielle Organics and what you thought!
