Hey guys! Today I have a very exciting post for you and it’s going to be all about the wonders of curly hair. Curly/kinky hair can be so hard to manage but when done well it can look am-a-zing! It honestly takes me so long to wash and style my hair but after the process is finished, it makes it worth the wait. I’ve been experimenting a lot with the products that I use in my hair to see what works best. I’ve even gone completely heat free with my hair but I will get into that in another post. A really good subscription box though that I would genuinely recommend for people with curly/kinky/ tightly coiled hair is the TreasureTress Box, which I have a review in for you today! Inside the box are a bunch of full sized and sampled goodies all specific to your hair type. This month’s box was curated by @hairissimba celebrating her birthday month! Treasure Tress have also very kindly offered to send me one of their boxes to giveaway to one of you so definitely continue reading so you can find out when that is taking place!
We are the UK’s first subscription box specifically catered to young girls with naturally kinky, curly, coily, frizzy hair. We navigate the sea of natural hair products to handpick the very best and deliver them to our UK mini naturalistas
TreasureTress have 3 types of boxes so you can find the one best suited to you. These are: The Queen Box, The Tween Box and The Mini-Me box. These each retail at £20. You could try any of the three boxes but The Queen Box is more specific to adults hair, The Tween Box to teenage hair and The Mini-Me box to younger children. Here I have the Queen box which I’m going to be showing you today. Before we take a closer look at the individual products I’ll give you a lil overview of the brand and their packaging/delivery.
The box is delivered to your home in the second week of each month. You can also choose which months you would like to receive the box or skip a month of subscription if it you didn’t fancy receiving one that month. It arrived very quickly and came securely packed. They even dress the box with coloured tissue paper and filling inside too, which is good for protecting the products. There weren’t any breakages or spillages so I was overall really happy with the delivery service and the packaging!
Inside this months box were 11 products, 6 of which were full sized. These were:
- Gro Healthy Shea & Coconut Leave-In Conditioner
- Curls Blueberry Bliss Reparative Leave-In Conditioner
- Curls Blueberry Bliss Reparative Hair Mask
- Design Essentials Coconut & Monoi Intense Shine Oil Mist
- Design Essentials Coconut & Monoi Curl Enhancing Dual Hydration Milk (x2)
- Design Essentials Curl Enhancing Mousse
- Palmers Manuka Flower Honey Strengthening Shampoo (x2)
- ORS Olive Oil Smooth Control Styling Gel
- ORS Monoi Oil
The products in this box totaled approx £60 which is amazing considering you are only paying £20 for the box!
I’m still yet to try out every single product but from the ones I have tried I have some lil mini reviews and demos below! My hair is honestly being pampered so much (hehe!).
Design Essentials Curl Enhancing Mousse:
I have used this product before and it is honestly one of my staple everyday products. I simply just scrunch this onto the ends of my hair for some extra curl definition to make the coils really pop. Despite this product being a mousse, it worked really well on my thick hair so it would also work amazingly on thinner hair too. (My used one on the left and the new one from the box on the right)
ORS Monoi Oil:
This has quickly become another favourite. Even after using it only a couple of times I can feel and see the difference in my hair. My scalp stays moisturised for longer and there is a very subtle sheen on my hair too. Not to mention that this smells INCREDIBLE!
Curls Blueberry Bliss Reparative Leave-In Conditioner:
Above you can see my hair after applying the conditioner and I could see the difference in my curl pattern immediately. This product makes it easier to detangle my hair softens my hair to really accentuate my curls.
Curls Blueberry Bliss Reparative Hair Mask:
Again above are some before and after pics. I left this mask on for 25 mins to give my hair a deep condition and especially the ends of my hair felt so much healthier and stronger. I also love the scent and that it contains Coconut Oils and Chamomile Extract which will really help to promote hair growth.
Viola! So if you are curly-haired girl or guy on the search for a new way to receive amazing hair products on a budget, then definitely look into TreasureTress!
