HOW TO: Halo Sunset Eyes || Makeup Tutorial

February 4, 2018

Hey guys! It’s been so long since I’ve done a makeup tutorial and I did a poll a few weeks ago on my Twitter and you guys really wanted to see one. So today I thought I would share with you how I created this Halo Sunset eye look. I’ve become so much more experimental with makeup recently and am so happy with how this turned out. As usual if you have any recreations tag me on Twitter @olivia_alesha and feel free to share this post if you like it! All the products used will be listed below, anyways let’s hop straight into the tutorial!

BROWS

NYX Tame & Frame , Espresso – £6.00

Technic Browmazing , Black Brown (Review here)

EYES

Bleach London Burgundy Shadow – £3.00

Bleach London Yellow Shadow – £3.00

Technic ColourFix Blush Palette – £4.14

Freedom Pro Blush & Highlight Palette (Discontinued *cries*)

Primark Natural False Lashes – £1

I patted the yellow shadow on with my finger so that the colour was really concentrated and I was so pleasently surprised at how pigmented this yellow was! Like you wouldn’t expect a yellow to be so opaque but Bleach London are KILLING IT with their eyeshadows! When blending the yellow into the pink, I got the perfect transitional orange, just like a sunset. I then added a darker plum shade and concentrated that on my outer and inner corner to create the ‘halo’ effect.

If you didn’t already know, halo eyes are basically when the outer and inner corners are darker to draw the attention to the center of the eye.

I then dragged a lil bit of the dark plum under my eye just to balance out the eye look. As a whole I really liked how it looked being matte, but I just wanted to add the tiniest bit of shimmer to the center. So I reached for the Freedom palette (review here) and put a bit of the golden shade in the center. I then popped on some Urban Decay Highlighter on my brow-bone and voila!

I love this Sunset look so much and I really hope that you do too! Let me know your thoughts below and any other makeup tutorial requests!

P.S: I’m trying to get to 600 Twitter followers by the end of the month. I would love if you could head over and drop me a follow and I’ll be following back today too! Byesies! Xxx

These eyes are incredible. Those bright colours look stunning against your skin tone. I’m not brave enough for a look like this but you look flawless! Shame about the blush palette x

Thank you so much Sophie! I bet you’d rock a look like this and I know it’s such a shame that it’s discontinued since is such a beautiful and versatile palette.

Brillliant tutorial. This reminds me of a look I created for one of my makeup exams. Love the colours you’ve used!
