Hey guys! I’m back again this week with a new post for you and today is another lil arty one. I’ve been drawing//painting loads and loads recently and did this one afternoon so I thought I would share it with you. Little side note: THIS IS MY 100TH POST ON ‘OLIVIA ALESHA’ WHOOOOO! (hehe!). Anyways, I felt like experimenting with watercolours that day so that’s what I did. I named this piece ‘Restrain’ and I quite liked how it turned out and the meaning that I interpreted from it. Below you’ll be able to see the steps that I went through to achieve the finished product. I don’t really use any fancy paints or pencils, literally this watercolour palette is one that I won in a school raffle back towards the end of primary school; it’s still going strong 3 years later!
**Things like drawings and paintings can be interpreted in so many different ways and this was just how I was thinking as I was creating this.**
I think for me this isn’t so much about physical restraint, but more or a mental restrain. I so easily get lost in my head and it sometimes gets to a point where I feel like I can’t do things because I’m too worried about how it will pan out. Or I’ll just feel like I mentally restrain myself because I’m too scared to do something or to take a risk for example. Don’t get me wrong, this isn’t all the time, majority of the time I’ll just feel free and content, but whenever I do get stressed, this picture is what it feels like for me. With the colours on the painting they weren’t too significant at the time, I just used them coz they were contrasting colours really. But I guess now that I think about it, the red hand literally represents how I can feel when I’m just stressing out and overthinking. While the blue hand represents my thoughts feeling like a type of restrain. Idk, like it’s hard to explain, I haven’t got a clue if I’m making sense but I hope you could see what I was trying to say among all my rambles.
P.S: Have you entered my giveaway? You have the chance to win the cutest Marble And Makeup Bundle! Hope you all have a fab week! Byesies! Xxx
