Heya! I hope you are all having an awesome summer, what have you all been up to? The summer holidays seem to be that perfect time for a summer getaway, be it abroad, little days out or a spontaneous trip. With that being said, you don't really want to be lugging around a ton of items with you. Just because you've jetted away to a fabulous destination, doesn't mean you want your whole makeup collection to jet off with you too. I never really bring that much makeup with me when I go away, but for the few items that I do like to bring I always make sure they are travel friendly, so in other words quite small and compact. Today I am going to be sharing with you my favourite travel friendly makeup bits along with 3 tips to help you make the most of your space and still have all the products you want when travelling. So lets hop right into it!
The Real Technique brushes are perfect! They are not only small and compact but multi-use, so you could pretty much use any of the three for any stage of your makeup. The powder brush also could apply a blush, highlight or bronzer and the uses for the other brushes are endless too. They don't necessarily have to be this exact brand of course, but I would recommend travelling with mini brushes simply because they are a lot easier to store in comparison to full sized brushes.
Now I'm not really one to wear eye shadow whilst on holiday but these little NARS Duos would be perfect for travelling as they are just so small. You could just chuck this in your bag or your suitcase and you'd be good to go! It contains two single eye shadows so you do get a bit of variation. It's a lot more convenient than carrying multiple different eye shadow palettes when you could just get a quick, simple and neutral look with one of the NARS duos.
The Naked On The Run Palette could not be anymore perfectly suited for travelling. I've heard such great things about this product and how great it is for on the go. It literally has everything that you need in one handy little compact! The gorgeous palette contains 5 eyeshadows that are all wearable, a medium bronze matte bronzer, a blush which has a light shimmer, a mascara in the shade blackest black, a deep brown satin 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil and a NAKED lip gloss. I mean you cannot get more perfect than that can you? (All the shades, specifications and pictures of the product are in the link above if you're wondering since I unfortunately don't actually own it.)
TIPS AND TRICKS
#1) USE SAMPLES! - I saw this idea across a Pinterest travel hacks board and thought that it was too good of an idea not to share with you guys. You know all those little testers for products and mini samples you tend to get for magazines, those are brilliant for travelling. They have a small amount of product in them, but still enough to get you through a day or two. It saves so much more space and they are great for makeup and skincare too, taking away the hassle of big bottles or full size items.
#2) DOUBLES - An easy way to make the most out of what you've got is to pack makeup products that have multi-use purposes. For example, a lip tint could double up to be used as a blusher or an eye shadow could be used as an eye liner. This way you are again, freeing so much more room for other items to be placed.
#3) MASCARA ON YOUR ROOTS? - This is one that I'm yet to test out but it sounded really cool and if it did work then, well that would be awesome! If you need a root touch up or simply just want to add some colour or definition to your hair, then all you need to do is whip out your mascara, swipe it through your hair and viola! It should just wash straight out afterwards and leave no damage to your hair.
