Hey guys! I hope you all had a fab Christmas/holiday! My Christmas day was spent with lots of family, food and games and it was so lovely to be surrounded by them. I have quite the busy week from this point on leading up to New Years. Have you guys got any plans, if so what are they? Aside from my busy schedule, I need to make sure that I don’t forget to care for myself and for my hair. Now I don’t know about you but my hair, alike my skin, get SUPER dry in the winter months. The cold just strips it’s moisture all away. So to ensure my Hair Care routine stays in tip top condition I rely heavily on hair oils and masks. Luckily the fabulous TreasureTress have me covered in that department with their December box! (Stay tuned till the end to get a cheeky discount code!)
I have spoken about this brand a few times on my site and have some reviews on their products (1/2/3/) but for those of you who don’t know, TreasureTress is an online subscription box for curly/kinky/coiled hair. They have boxes for small children, teens and adults too! Their boxes retail at only £20, which is incredible because the worth of the products in the box combined always exceeds the amount you pay for the box. Today I have for you the December Box and some mini reviews on each of the products included!
This product is nice a big, so you get a lot of liquid in there. Unlike other oils, this one comes out quite thick and almost gel like. It really unique and not a consistency that I’ve tried before. It claims to nourish roots, promote hair growth, condition the scalp and moisturize the hair. Believe me, it does it all! When I applied the product to my scalp it almost melts into the hair and doesn’t leave a ‘greasy’ feel to the scalp. It’s also amazing when you have your hair in braids; I have my hair in cornrows and it really rejuvenates and brings back some life to the braids.
Now these two products aren’t exclusive to hair but they continue on the theme of moisture. These are the Palmer’s Enzyme Mask and Flip Balm. The Flip Balm is the perfect kinda ‘throw in you bag’ lip balm. It’s super creamy and nourishing and has a similar shape to the EOS lip balms, except this is much more affordable. The Enzyme Mask is something that I’m now using every day! It is super thick and luxurious feeling on the skin and has the lightest fragrant ever, so if you don’t like over powering scents then this product is for you. It leaves me skin feel really soft and most of all hydrated.
If you want you hair to grow you need you some Black Caster Oil! I’ve been using this stuff in my hair for years and it’s in my opinion one of the most reliable oils for hair growth out there. I was so happy when I saw this in the box because I’f been meaning to buy a new one. This oil is super rich, thick and dark. A little bit really does go a long way with this and I love to massage it directly onto my roots before bed so that the product can really soak in. It helps restore sheen and reduces brittle ends. Similar to the oil, the Intensive Repair Mask is really luxurious and thick. I used it the other day when my hair was in desperate need of a mask and it worked its magic. Not only did it hydrate but it defined my curls and made my hair softer. It includes a bunch of oils like Grape seed, Linseed, Coconut and Caster Oil.
Included in the box were also two samples from Palmer’s Honey & Manuka range. I’ve tried this line before and the honey element of the product adds a beautiful sheen to my hair. The shampoo is sulfate free which is incredible and the conditioner is really light and doesn’t feel like it’s weighing my hair down.
Liv So Range – £49.50
This is the only product that I haven’t yet tried but have heard amazing things about. Liv So have a shampoo, conditioner and hair lotion that are all tailored to dry hair aka my hair in the winter. They are sulfate free and full of ingredients to reduce dryness and encourage growth. Due to the above being samples, I cannot name a price for the sample pack I got however the full size of the range combined would be £49.50 .
December’s Box came to the overall value of (approx.) £39.10!
So if you bought the December box you would have saved £9.10 than if you were to individually purchase the items.
So that concludes today’s post! Be sure to head over to TreasureTress and get signed up because it’s the best way to try out new products from brands you may not have otherwise discovered! When you do head over be sure to use
OLIVIA10 – for 10% off of your first box!
