Heya! As you may or may not know, I’ve started a new series here on my blog called “Curly Care”. With this series I’ll be posting all things related to curly hair since I feel like there aren’t that many curly hair posts around at the moment. I just thought it would be nice to help out anyone who needs some extra guidance with this kinda stuff since I didn’t have many blog posts covering this niche when I first started blogging. Anyways, today I have a review on one of my fave subscription boxes, TreasureTress! I’ve done an in-depth review on their June and July boxes and I have their August box for you today. If you aren’t too familiar with TreasureTress, feel free to check out my previous reviews to learn some more about them.
This month was The Carnival Edition and a brand focus on the GroHealthy Shea & Coconut range! Alike all the boxes TreasureTress stock, this one retails at £20. Lets have a closer look at the products featured this month.
As per usual, the products are packed beautifully and securely in a box. They have paper filling packed around them before they are carefully wrapped in tissue paper. This month featured 5 products in which would complete an entire wash day routine! I have tried out each one of these products and have some mini reviews and demo’s on them so you can see how they work. Just to keep in mind I have type 4b hair, so the products may have a slightly different effect on different curl densities.
First up we have the GroHealthy Moisturizing Shampoo and the Gro Healthy Moisture Rich Conditioner. They both claim to “Repair, Rebuild & Moisturize” which they both do incredibly well. I found the Shampoo to work up a nice lather and it managed to break through any build up on my scalp to leave it feeling squeeky clean. The Conditioner was what I found the most moisturizing out of the pair. I did find that I had to use quite a lot of the products to get a good coverage on my hair, but bear in mind my hair is very thick and very tightly curled, so this may vary. Other than that they are products I would definitely repurchase.
Next I tried out the GroHealthy Leave-In Conditioner. The thing that I like most about this product is the amount of slip it adds to the hair. Due to it being water based, it applied to my hair so well and left my curls feeling very hydrated. I simply worked this product into my hair whilst it was still wet to achieve the best results.
I’m always super excited to try out new hair oils because my hair is naturally very dry. This is the GroHealthy Shea & Coconut Oil and this did not disappoint at all! It has a very light, pleasant scent and a feels light on the hair as well. A lot of oils can feel as though they drag your hair down but this one feels revitalizing, light and nourishing.
Last but definitely not least is the GroHealthy Shea & Coconut Curling Custard. This, alike all of these GroHealthy products, is sulfate free and parabens free which is incredible as it is free from hash chemicals. I loved the smell of this product and its consistency. It’s quite thick and super moisturizing and left a healthy shine on my hair. I especially liked the way my hair looked after it had dried with the product in, as my curls would be super defined. The only downside, is that I did find a few small flakes of product after it had set, but that may have been down to not saturating my hair enough with water before applying.
Augusts box came to an overall RRP value of £23.25 which means you save £3.25 on this bundle when you receive it via TreasureTress!
So all my curly haired guys and girls, I would definitely recommend trying out GroHealthy as they are super affordable and of great quality and if you’d like to discover new brands every month, definitely head over to the TreasureTress website.
P.S: Over the course of September, I’m changing my blogging direction and design quite a bit, so I’m really excited for you all to see it! I’ve already started on the colour scheme and made a new banner, what do you think so far? Byesies! Xxx
